Queanbeyan Regatta

Location: Ray Morton Park

Feel like 'messing about in boats'? Each year in March, the people of Queanbeyan enjoy getting out on the river in craft of all shapes and sizes during the Queanbeyan Regatta.

For months beforehand, community groups, schools, businesses, families and individuals put their creativity and engineering skills to work and create some 'oarsome' vessels for the raft races.

The emphasis is on creativity and participation, rather than speed - with prizes for 'Green Machine' (best use of recycled materials), 'Dream Engineer' (most creative design), 'Show Your Style' (most creative crew name and outfits) and 'Shoot for the Stars' (first across the line). Children's craft activities, food stalls, arts and crafts and entertainment adds to the atmosphere.
